Ridgeway Radio
Windrose Rural Media Trust
This is a radio training project for young people and is concerned with the South Dorset Ridgeway.
It is one of a number of projects, run by various organisations, which are funded by the South Dorset Ridgeway Landscape Partnership. The Landscape Partnership is one of a number of such partnerships funded around the country by the Heritage Lottery Fund. As well as running Ridgeway Radio, Windrose is a partner in the Landscape Partnership.
During the autumn of 2015, a group of students from Weymouth College came together to learn and discover more about the South Dorset Ridgeway. Keen to discover more about the Saxon period the students decided that the only way to find out what life was actually like back then was to travel back in time to the year AD895. In the final part of the series the students travel to the South Dorset Ridgeway to find out why the Saxons buried their warriors on the ridgeway.
